Critical Power Demand Scheduling for Hospitals Using Repurposed EV Batteries

Without a doubt, the healthcare sector is one of most vulnerable sectors electricity outages. A microgrid system to be installed in hospitals, if well planned, may offer continuous and low cost solution for health-care. By constructing an Energy Management System (EMS) specific this study aims present significance using energy storage optimum schedule power utilization prevent lethal consequences arising from cut-offs quality issues. EMS linear (LP) scheduling model including PV panels re-purposed EV batteries, its target meet demand hospital with lowest every hour. The proposed was run 150-bed Istanbul, Turkey under 5 different scenarios hour based on data 2016. According scenario results, it possible achieve 9.4% 13.4% reduction bills grid usage, respectively.
